WholeSelf believes healing occurs through deep, supportive relationships.

This creates the circumstances for an individual to grow, make new choices, and create a meaningful life.

Jacinda Tucker, PhD

Hi, I’m Dr. Tucker, lead psychologist at WholeSelf. I started my career in organizational research. I’ve worked at places like HISD, the Harris Center, and in long term care settings. After years of practice, I decided to try something different. So, I started WholeSelf.

For me, this isn’t just a mental health company. WholeSelf is a partnership between me and those who chose me for their therapy process. I have years of experience in the mental health field, and I have learned what I love to do.
I love to take care of my clients.

At first, I was reluctant to start another mental health practice. I was not sure how we would be different. However, I was lucky enough to partner with my friend and colleague to start WholeSelf. She takes cares of all the operational details for WholeSelf and she is amazing and knows how to get stuff done! With her support, I have the freedom do what I love most- take care of my clients! Together, we have created a flexible practice that allows our clients to participate in psychotherapy virtually, removing some of the time constraints to keeping up with weekly appointments. Additionally, we will also be offering scheduled in-the-same-room sessions throughout the year. This means we can go to where our clients might be across Texas to have sessions with them and then return to a virtual platform to continue weekly appointments.

Meshel Stewart, PMHNP

As a native Houstonian, I’m passionate about providing compassionate mental health care to individuals in my community and beyond. With a deep understanding that mental health is complex, my approach as a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner focuses on listening to your unique experiences and creating a safe, empathetic space for your treatment.

I hold a BSN and MSN in Leadership and Administration from from the University of Texas Health Science Center-Houston, and a Post-Masters in Psychiatric and Mental Health from Maryville University.

My clinical interests include but are not limited to anxiety, depression, trauma, stress management and women’s issues, with a focus on holistic care that addresses the whole person. I integrate evidence-based practices while considering factors like lifestyle, relationships, and external stressors. Outside of work, you can find me traveling, trying new restaurants, or supporting my son as a sports mom. I’m here to help you navigate life’s challenges and support your mental health journey.

David Benavidez, LMFT

Now I’m here at WholeSelf. I find myself working a lot with relationship/relational issues, self-improvement, sexual issues-including unhealthy relationships with pornography- and life transitions.

My therapeutic philosophy emphasizes collaborative practices, working together with clients to help them knock down barriers to well-being. I hope to support clients in living authentically and expressively on their own terms.

I'm David Benavidez, a practicing LGBTQIA+ affirming Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of Texas. I work with adolescents (12 and up), individuals, couples, and families.

I’ve been practicing therapy for more than 7 years. I got my start working at West Oaks Hospital as an intern, seeing people in crisis and helping them get some stability beneath their feet. I then worked from 2019 in private practice. I have learned a lot as a therapist in appreciating what it takes for clients to reach their goals.

Stephanie Wolff
Practice Manager

Since joining WholeSelf in 2022, I've managed the day-to-day practice administration so our clinicians can focus on what they do best: guiding clients through their therapeutic journeys.

Outside of WholeSelf, I work in medical education and clinical simulation, and my professional interests center on trauma-informed women's health, suicide prevention, and equity in care at the end of life. I'm passionate about expanding health access through community-engaged education and research, and meeting people where they are, especially in their most vulnerable moments.

I have a background in global health, having lived and worked in Chicago, Russia, Tanzania, and Scotland before settling in Houston. When I'm not working, you'll find me back on the road with family and friends, exploring and camping in our National Parks, my favorite of which (so far) is the Grand Canyon.
